New this season, perfect for beginning knitters!

This Ombre Sweater Blanket Knit-Along is part kit, part workshop. All materials for this woolly mammoth are included, including four and a half pounds of chunky luxury wool yarn, my favorite giant wooden knitting needles, a week-by-week guide to the pattern, videos of the basic knitting skills we will explore, and a canvas backpack-style duffel bag to make your project transportable (if you’re local, to the free Sweater Blanket clinics at the Tulsa showroom on Saturdays).

The Knit-Along lasts 8 weeks, with a new technique, pattern reveal, and video each week. Week 1 starts Saturday, Sept. 22 (happy first day of fall!).

Believe it or not, we will knit this blanket in less time and in fewer stitches than it takes to knit most standard scarves. And, we will have more fun doing it. That’s the beauty of giant knitting.

Full instructions on how to participate in the knit-along will be emailed upon registration.

Presale for the Knit-Along starts in August. Knit-Along supplies will be mailed Friday, Sept. 7.

HSFNworkshop-1117-0087.jpg

In the amount of time it takes you to Netflix through an episode and a half of Game of Thrones, you can learn to make a hanging home for your favorite plants.

In this 90-minute macramé workshop, I will provide everything you need—100-percent cotton cord, natural wood beads, an instruction booklet I wrote and photographed just for you, and even enough snacks to fuel you and your creativity—to create a handmade macramé hanging planter, the most handy-dandy of the macramé sculptures.

We will cover basic macramé terms and techniques, including how to customize your hanger for any plant or planter, how to decorate your hanger with knots and fringe, and the best way to hang your final piece. You and your new macra-pals will leave class with everything you need to know to create at least 88 more macramé hanging planters, if not more.

But certainly not less. Because you're about to catch the macramé bug, my friends. Because of this, I will have additional hanging-planter kits, which include cord, beads, hanger, and an instruction booklet, available for purchase during class, plus extras of all the raw materials we use in class.
