This lashy-eyed macrame owl is a contemporary take on the ones you remember seeing on the walls of the stylish in the 1970s and 80s.

With cleaner, simpler lines combined with updated materials, this "feathered" friend plays well with your other bohemian- and vintage-style pieces. He also plays safe and peaceful alongside true-blue vintage macrame owls (we tested in a controlled environment, just to be sure.)

REQUIRED MATERIALS:
One thin piece of driftwood, 13-15 inches
One 12-inch wooden dowel
42 yards of raveled 3/8-inch rope (or 32 yards of pliable 1/8-inch rope)
Two round 1-1/4 inch wood beads
One oblong, 1-5/8-inch wood bead (barrel bead)
Two wood or metal rings, 2-1/4-inch in diambeter
